Introduction

Have you found a super cool new font that you want to use but don’t know how to install a font? Don’t worry, we’ll help you get that font in no time!

Find the downloaded font

For this example I’m going to assume you’ve found a font you want, you can use a number of sites such as 1001 fonts or Font space to find free fonts.

I’m going to install the font ‘Sunny Spells‘, so first off you want to go and find it in your downloads, it may or may not be in a zip file.

Just double click on it to open it. Some fonts may not be saved in a zip file in which case you can skip this and go to the next step.

How to install a font windows 10

You should be shown with something like this, simply double click the font to open it. You’ll then be shown with this window, click ‘install‘ in the top left.

This is the font window that appears when you double click the font file.

Let the install complete.

When the install is complete the window above will close, you can see it’s installed because the font windows ‘install‘ button is now greyed out.

That’s it, you’ve now installed a font! If I go into something like word, you can see it’s now available as a font.

Word now has my downloaded font as an option.

Quick steps to install a font on windows

Download a font, double click it (double click the zipped folder first if necessary) and click install in the top left of the window.
