Introduction
In todays post I will take you through the simple process of changing your password via CMD.
Showing current users
First of all you will need to open CMD (Command Prompt) and type in ‘net user‘ to display all of the users on your machine.
Changing the password
Once you’ve done this you’ll need to find the account you want to change the password of, in this case it is the user ‘Splinter‘, next you will want to type out ‘net user username *‘ where username is the user you wish to change the password of.
Now press enter and type in the new password you would like to use.
You will need to type the password twice, and notice that no text is actually displayed as you type the password for security reasons.
Retype the password and press enter, then you’re done!
It’s as easy as that!
Quick steps
Run CMD as an administrator > type in ‘net user username *‘ where username is the user you want to change the password of > type the new password in followed by enter, twice
