Online Timers and Flash

With the abandonment of Flash (RIP) the online timer has become popular.

We have had people ask, “Can you get this working?” to which they refer to a flash powered timer from the days of old!

Unfortunately, the answer is no as Flash files no longer work as they’re not supported anymore. Meanwhile they go online to find an online timer like this one.

Therefore, in today’s post I’ll be showing you how to use the timer that’s built right into Windows 10.

An online timer

Now, to find the timer, you’re going to need to head on over to the ‘Alarms & Clock‘ program. Simply search the start menu for ‘Clock‘ and it will appear.

Once ‘Alarms & Clock‘ opens you will be shown with the screen below. Simply click on ‘Timer‘ along the top of the screen.

You will be greeted with a preset timer, to change the time simply click it.

Adjust the hours, minutes and seconds to your liking and change the timers name (just underneath ‘hours‘) if you want to. Significantly helpful if you often use a timer for things such as an exam or group work.

When you’ve chosen the timings, click the play button in the bottom right corner to start the timer.

That’s all there is to it! However this isn’t to say an online timer is bad, they can be good but what if something silly like a poor internet connection stops it working?

This timer won’t be affected by that and can be used for many things from focusing on work or giving yourself a break to…well, timing!

Quick steps to create a timer

Open ‘Alarms & Clock‘ > Click on ‘Timer‘ > Click the timer to change the duration > Click the play button in the bottom right
